LIGO is Honan Insurance Group’s Underwriting Division and is the brand under which this insurance product is made available to the market. Your broker at Honan is ready to guide and support you throughout the claims process. Any claims should initially be reported to Honan for immediate assistance. Alternatively, you have the option to submit a claim directly through the “Make a Claim” feature.

Risksmart Claims Solutions Pty Ltd (Risksmart) is a subsidiary of Honan Insurance Group and provides insurance claim management services under delegated authority for insurers. Risksmart is the authorised claims management service provider for claims made under LIGO products. Any claims made under LIGO policies will be reviewed and managed by Risksmart. All information disclosed on the claim form below will be shared with Risksmart.

Claims Checklist

You should review the terms and conditions of the insurance policy on the process involved in making a claim. However, generally you should:

  • Contact your Honan Broker citing the date, time, cause and location of the loss.
  • Take photos of damages.
  • Obtain identification of all civil authorities involved such as fire, police, health department, building inspector, etc.
  • Keep damaged items safely for assessment.
  • Arrange for quotes for repairs.
  • Retain all invoices, time sheets etc, to ensure all costs are captured and attributable to the loss and to prevent an overlapping of normal costs with these expenditures.
